Why Biochar Algae Removal?
The high impact algae removal technology we distribute has revolutionized the control of Harmful Algal Blooms (HAB’s) at a significantly lower cost, higher success rate and ease of use compared to other treatments.
Our advanced and innovative biochar solution has been deployed to remediate all varieties of waterway in every type of algae removal project. Our biochar is drastically restoring the overall health of lakes, reservoirs, rivers, streams, estuaries, bays, slurry ponds, fracking sites, dairies and more across the United States.
An exceptional salt-binding ability and long pore structure is entirely unique to our superior biochar. This is a game-changer in waterways, water treatment facilities and the remediation of algae blooms.
proliferation which are national and worldwide invasive species now in many lakes
Beyond the nation's borders, our biochar is cornerstone for the Thames River remediation project, one of the planet’s most historically polluted rivers. Our biochar is removing pollutants and promoting ecological rejuvenation in the 215 mile long river that was previously considered “biologically dead.” The importance of this remediation work by our biochar cannot be understated.
“The successful restoration of the Thames is already being used as a template for river restorations around the world. The ongoing Thames restoration is a beacon of hope for environmental scientists and community activists alike. It’s a powerful reminder that nature can heal itself if we foster conditions for biodiversity to thrive.”

Additionally, our biochar has been successfully tested by Canadian labs, approved and selected as the remediation solution for the annual Harmful Algal Blooms in 10,000 square mile Lake Erie.

Our United States Supply Landscape
Our biochar is the only producer of biochar worldwide to have received formal approval from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This endorsement covers the entire production process, unrestricted utilization, and lawful release of the product into the environment.
Our biochar also holds certifications from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) and the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA) and is currently the only company that meets the high ISO standard of carbon production.
EPA: The numerous pathways that global warming will continue to increase harmful algal blooms
Our biochar uses custom-designed, patented, slow-pyrolysis kilns to make its biochar. The kiln’s unique multi-zone combustion, airflow, negative pressure and recipe-driven control system allow each kiln to independently produce consistent, high quality biochar. The patented, removable stack assembly was designed to chemically convert smoke and other undesirable emissions into clean air permitted by various state agencies across the United States.
Our biochar holds 17 patents that employ groundbreaking pyrolysis technologies that transform waste wood and underutilized organic cellulose into the worlds most versatile carbon resource with limitless applications.
EPA Approval
Our biochar is the only carbon approved by the Michigan EPA for use on the lakes where they are deploying 100’s of thousands of “socks” of Biochar Now to remediate algae and PFA’s (forever chemicals)
An example system for contaminant removal from water bodies with biochar includes an anchor, a float, and an attachment line extending between the anchor and the float. One or more porous containers is provided on the attachment line. The porous container has biochar therein. The container with the biochar is provided into a water body and maintained on the attachment line between the anchor and the float. The biochar in the porous container sequesters contaminants in the water body.
Our Long-Pore Biochar
Poor Qualilty Biochar
Our specialized biochar filled "socks" have been the key element of algae removal projects, showcasing their practicality and extremely high effectiveness. Extensive testing conducted by a spectrum of elite laboratories has validated and approved the use of our biochar technology to then remediate algae blooms in Lake Erie, Central Park New York, South River, Virginia and many more major water elements across the United States.
High quality biochar also serves as a powerful solution for remediating non-point-source pollution stemming from agricultural runoff, effectively capturing nutrients before they can contaminate waterways and rendering them available for reuse.
