Our United Nations COP 28 Summit video

“Climate action and sustainability are central themes at the ongoing COP28 in the United Arab Emirates, with the spotlight on the bustling Green Zone (where our biochar video premiered). The Green Zone is a designated space for dialogue and demonstrations from a diverse range of stakeholders. The Green Zone is playing host to a vibrant array of activities and exhibits that illustrate the collaborative efforts and innovative approaches in the fight against climate change.”

At COP28, the UN’s agriculture wing launched a ground-breaking plan to transform the world’s agrifood systems from a net emitter to a carbon sink by 2050.

Roadmap to Net Zero

Our video premiered by invitation from the United Nations on the large screen in the Green Zone of the 2023 Climate Summit at the United Nations.

The annual, global summit is a collaborative climate policy and innovation exchange bringing together 70,000 participants from around the world, including top business leaders, scientists, heads of state, climate envoys, lobbyists, Indigenous groups, and activists.

“Representatives from nearly 200 countries agreed at the COP28 climate summit on Wednesday to begin reducing global consumption of fossil fuels to avert the worst of climate change, signalling the eventual end of the oil age.” (DUBAI, Dec 13 Reuters)

The annual meeting initially created the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change — an agreement signed by over 150 governments. The Biochar Now Story will be featured on a large display for all of the attendees to view and learn about the role Biochar Now is playing to help create a zero carbon future and remediate the environment.

This summit is where climate advocates, government officials, industry leaders, and experts from around the world take on the hardest climate and energy questions, share innovative solutions, and highlight opportunities like Biochar Now to transform the global energy system to address climate change. In the 2023 Summit, nearly 200 countries will attempt to agree on a plan to collectively accelerate the global mission of slowing climate change.

One outcome of the 2023 summit is the first “global stocktake,” which is the first assessment since the Paris Climate Accord in 2015 of how nations are doing in efforts to combat global temperature rise.
